The Gift of Time

Give thanks for the gift of time.

Each day, each hour, each moment is precious – so let’s not waste the time given to us with unnecessary worry and jealousy.

Let’s try not to will our existence away, always comparing our lives to others, while forgetting what we have been given and what we have right here, right now.

Let’s take time to love the people around us, rather than finding things to complain about and criticise. Let’s take time to think of others and to find ways of helping and loving them, instead of always thinking first of ourselves and our needs, and what we want and what we think we deserve.

And as we wake each morning, let’s give thanks for the days we have been given and always find moments in each day to smile, to love and to laugh.

On this day – February 29th 2012 – when we are given an extra day, I’ve been thinking about how I use my time and how, sometimes, I just get it all wrong. So the words are for me, as well as for anyone who might be interested in reading them.

Praise and Thanksgiving
